Details
Description
Testimony of Help is an immersive short film in virtual reality that tells the heroic story of the Ulm family from Markowa - who provided aid to Jews during World War II. The project transports users to the realities of a village in the Podkarpackie region in the 1940s. The entire setting has been faithfully recreated based on archival photographs taken by Józef Ulma. Thanks to the careful reproduction of details and the atmosphere of those times, users can embark on a very moving project. The narrator in the film is six-year-old Basia, the daughter of Victoria and Józef Ulma, who recounts the experiences of her heroic family from her childhood perspective, talking about life in the village and the changes that occurred with the arrival of new residents. The experience allows users to better understand the poignant events that took place in Markowa, but also encourages deeper reflection.
The short film ' Testimony of Help ' is a project harnessing the educational potential of virtual reality, designed to remind Poles in this immersive manner that we have always supported others in need, even in the most tragic moments of history, facing injustice and the cruelty of war with full dedication. This is our legacy, a testament of love, courage, hope, and assistance.
